| In these drawn-paintings I try to combine the finality of line with areas of diffused color to achieve balance both visually and emotionally. This balance is reflective and introverted and compares, in my mind, to the flowing nature of water. The central figure (everyman) is surrounded by imagery which is personal yet accessible. In trying to depict the contemplative state I leave large areas of the paper empty and play its whiteness against the ink line and color spaces. |
